"KEEPING THE LEGENDARY SOUTH JERSEY GLASSMAKING TRADITION ALIVE"
The Story Of "PINE BARRENS DIAMONDS" ™
Made by hand, one at a time, by Paul Evans Pedersen, Jr.
From deep within the beautiful World Famous Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey comes this exquisite hand-made jewelry featuring the "Pine Barrens Diamonds" ™, and now, FUSED DICHROIC GLASS.
"Pine Barrens Diamonds" ™ are cut, shaped and expertly polished pieces of early 19th Century Glass that were abandoned from several World-famous Glass Works, including the Crowleytown Works, Isabella Works, The Tansboro Works, The Coffin and Hay Works, The Bulltown Works, and other old glass manufacturers from yesteryear.
At secret, privately owned "Pine Barrens Diamond" ™ locations throughout South Jersey, I carefully dig, probe, excavate and unearth pieces of glass that for a variety of reasons went unused and were discarded.
At my South Jersey "Pine Barrens Diamonds" ™ processing shop, I select the finest pieces of this glass, rough cut the pieces to their optimum size, then shape, grind and fire polish the glass to a beautiful finish. I then take the polished "Pine Barrens Diamonds" ™ and assemble and set them into a variety of fine jewelry items, complimented by genuine SWAROVSKI Austrian crystals, Sterling Silver, and other rare and beautiful components.
The "Pine Barrens Diamonds" ™ jewelry line is a unique, one of a kind artistic piece that's actually nearly 200 years old the day I make it! A historically significant Artifact from days of long long ago, and a true Heirloom from early 19th Century South Jersey.
Our FUSED DICHROIC GLASS is a secret combination of 3 or 4 layers of metal oxided, multi-colored 90 C.O.E. American glass, and powdered (frit) 19th century South Jersey glass. It is then fused together into one piece at extremely high temperatures here in our shop.
We are the ONLY glass shop in the world that uses this process! And it is what gives OUR glass it's stunning crystal brilliance!
It is then diamond cut, shaped and grinded, then RE-FIRED in a polishing stage. The pieces are then complimented with SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS and/or fine Italian Sterling Silver.
Just like the way we make our jewelry, we sell it the old fashioned way around here. Mail me a check, (payable to Paul Pedersen) and I mail you the jewelry. If and after I get to know you, I'll mail it out before I get the check, as soon (in minutes) as you order it. My post office is just up the road, in the same tiny building as Rosie's Deli in Winslow Junction. I'm there alot! LOL! OR, you can purchase your jewelry at one of the very few fine and selected shops that sell it. Store locations are listed on the bottom of this page.
